EVR Solenoid valve
EVR solenoid valve is a one-time opening or two-time opening valve, it is suitable for one-way flow.

The Working Principle of Refrigeration Solenoid Valve
One-time opening type(Direct-acting type)
EVR3 is the direct-acting type solenoid valve.
When the stainless steel core part moves up because of the magnetic force from the solenoid valve coil, the refrigeration solenoid valve opens directly.
It means the solenoid valve is able to work under the zero pressure difference.
The sealing core is installed on the stainless steel core, the inlet pressure is on the stainless steel core part.
So when there is no electricity for the coil, the inlet pressure, spring force, and stainless steel core weight work together to close the valve.
Two-time opening(Servo Type)
EVR6/10/15/20 is the servo-type solenoid valve with the movable valve core part.
The pilot valve core and the diaphragm are on the valve core parts.
When the refrigeration solenoid valve coil is not be charged with electricity, the main valve port and pilot vale port are all closed.
The weight for the stainless steel valve core part, the spring force, and inlet&outlet pressure difference work together to make the valve closed.
When the coil is charged with electricity, the stainless steel valve core moves up.
Because it is forced by the magnetic, then open the pilot valve on the diaphragm.
By then, the pressure on the diaphragm is decreased, the top of the diaphragm is connected to the inlet of the solenoid valve.
The pressure difference for the inlet and outlet of the solenoid valve makes the diaphragm moves up and open.
Therefore, the valve should be open and there must exist a minimum pressure difference;
When the coil lost electricity, the pilot valve is closed, the pressure on the diaphragm is increased the same with inlet pressure through the balance hole of the diaphragm.
Make sure the diaphragm moves down and closes the main valve port.
Unloading Solenoid Valve
The unloading solenoid valve is a type of solenoid valve that can be loaded by itself according to the heat load reducing situation.
It will save energy for the compressor and it has a longer working life.
It is widely used for freezing, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment.
It is also can be supplied for a complete solenoid valve and separate valve body and valve coil.

Solenoid Valve Coil
The solenoid valve coil is the indispensable accessory for the refrigeration solenoid valve.
Only with the coil, the solenoid valve can work normally. And the coil only can be charged with electricity when installed on the valve, or it will be damaged.

Solenoid Valve in Refrigeration System
In the refrigeration system, each valve needs to cooperate well with each others.
So it can ensure the normal and complete operation of the whole system.
Notes the following important using instructions to make sure the long life running of the refrigeration solenoid valve and system.
Installation
All the refrigeration solenoid valve has to be installed correctly according to the flow direction(there will be an arrow to point the direction on the valve), then it will work smoothly.
For the refrigerant solenoid valve that needs to be installed before the expansion valve in the system, make sure to install it near the expansion valve, this will avoid the liquid hitting situation when open the refrigeration solenoid valve.
Ensure the pipeline around the solenoid valve is installed and connected very well, to prevent the rupture problem.
You need to take some suitable measures to prevent heating damage for the refrigeration solenoid valve when you do the welding work.
Test the pressure of the refrigeration system
When you test the pressure of the system, you have to energize the coil or open all the solenoid valves in the system manually(If there is a manual operating lever is installed).
Screw back the operating lever before you start the system, otherwise, the refrigeration solenoid valve will not be able to close.
Finally, when you fix the refrigeration solenoid valve to the pipeline.
You must use the reaction force as always, which means you need to use two wrenches to tighten the solenoid valve on both sides.
Installation of the solenoid valve coil.
When you install the valve coil to the refrigeration solenoid valve.
You need to install an o-ring between the valve body and coil, align the coil hole with the connecting steel, press the valve coil until you heard the closing sound, which means you install the coil in the right place.
Maintenance for refrigeration solenoid valve
When you do the maintenance, please change the o-ring.
When you install the coil to the valve body during repairing.
Please pay attention to the inlet of the cable, the cable has to lead out through a drip bend, must make sure no water enters into the solenoid valve coil cable.
Notice:
Make sure the o-ring is smooth, with no damage and no paint or other objects on the surface.
Choose the right and most suitable solenoid valve for your system.
Choose the right cable, please always use round cable because it’s the type of cable that has an excellent sealing function.
It has been tested by actual work and turns out it has an effective sealing.
Make sure the voltage and frequency of the solenoid valve coil are right for your system, or it doesn’t match, the coil will be burnt.
For some refrigeration systems, it requires the refrigerant solenoid valve to remain close during the working conditions, you need to use the normal close type solenoid.
Of course, for some systems that need the refrigeration solenoid valve to remain open during the working conditions, choose the normally open type refrigerant solenoid valve.
And they can not be replaced in these situations.

Common Failure and Treatment Methods of Solenoid Valve
The refrigeration solenoid valve doesn’t work after energizing.
Failure Reason:
A: The wire is not connected well, and it can’t provide the power supply.
B: The medium pressure or working pressure difference is not matched.
C: There are some impurities to stuck the solenoid valve core.
Treatment method:
A: Re-connect the wire.
B: Change a new refrigeration solenoid valve that matches the working pressure difference well.
C: Clean the valve, change the sealing part if it’s damaged, and install the filter drier before the refrigeration solenoid valve.
The refrigeration solenoid valve can’t be closed.
Failure Reason:
A: The spring inside is deformed or has expired.
B: The valve core or the sealing ring is worn.
C: There are impurities entering into the valve core.
D: The sealing gasket is dropped, damaged, or deformed.
E: The balance hole or the orifice is blocked.
Treatment method:
A: Change a new spring for the refrigeration solenoid valve.
B: Replace the refrigeration solenoid valve.
C: Clean the refrigeration solenoid valve.
D: Replace or reassemble the refrigeration solenoid valve.
E: Clean the refrigeration solenoid valve regularly.
The leakage of the refrigeration solenoid valve.
Failure Reason:
A: The connection of the refrigeration solenoid valve is loose.
B: The sealing part of the refrigeration solenoid valve is damaged.
Treatment method:
A: Tighten the bolt or the connecting thread.
B: Change a new sealing part.
Internal leakage of the refrigeration solenoid valve.
Failure Reason:
A: The main valve and pilot valve are not matched well or have already deformed.
B: The spring didn’t assemble well or was deformed.
Treatment method:
A: Change a new sealing gasket.
B: Change a new spring.
Heavy noise when the refrigeration solenoid valve is working.
Failure Reason:
A: The fasteners are loosened.
B: The medium pressure or viscosity is not matched with the system.
C: The fluctuation of the voltage is out of the allowable range.
Treatment method:
A: Tighten it again.
B: Change a new and suitable refrigeration solenoid valve.
C: Adjust the voltage.
The solenoid valve does not change direction, and the heating and cooling for AC cannot be interchanged.
Failure Reason:
The power supply voltage is lower than the rated voltage of the refrigeration solenoid valve, the pressure difference of inlet and outlet is over the ability to open the valve, this cause the valve core can’t attract and close.
Treatment method:
Improve the power supply.
